Biography
Prof. MICHELE VETRUGNO got his degree during the 1986-87 Academic Year with full marks and honour, and a dissertation in Ophthalmology Clinics the title of which was “Visual evoked Potential and Oscillatory Potential in headacheâ€. During his University years he won a scholarship from E.N.P.A.L.S. He got his diploma to practice the medical profession at the Università degli Studi in Bari in the April 1987 Session. He specialised in Ophthalmology in 1992 with full marks and honours and a dissertation entitled “Capsular cataract extraction with H.S.M. IOL implant in a hemo-dyalised patientâ€. On June 24, 1995 he got the the Diploma of the European Board of Ophthalmology in Milano. During the 1990-91 Academic years to now, he co-operated with his Teacher in lectures and practice with the students of the 5th course year, and with tutorial activity for dissertations for the Degree in Medicine and Surgery and for specialisation in Ophthalmology. Additionally he performs an integrating didactic activity in the “Eye Surgery Courseâ€, with monthly attendance, since the 1994-95 Academic Year. From 2002 till today he is Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Head of Glaucoma Research Centre of Eye Clinic – University of Bari, Italy. He is author or Co-author of 200 publications, both in Italian and International Journals (55 publications in PUBMED).
